ANASTASIA'S TOES Mario Flecha

Short stories (English), 150 pag.

Anastasia’s Toes brings together a series of stories that intuit a possible reality.
The narratives, fragments of the everyday, create an uncertain universe where the characters of the different fictions stumble upon the rare circumstance of living.
Anastasia's Toes tells several chimeras of the life of an emigrant who travels from his native Buenos Aires to London, his adopted home, and combines these two conceptually different cities, exploring the absurdities of life.
Every migrant leaves his past in his home country and must confront an uncertain future.
The story, Anastasia's Toes, is of first love in the Mediterranean town of Sète.
In Smoke Sellers, a group of Argentinian tourists in London cross paths with two Argentinians residing in the English capital. The innocence of the tourists contrasts with the mischief of the two porteños.
This collection of short stories ends with a series of Haikus written by Mario Flecha’s Doppelgänger, Mario Flecha, a Brasilian poet living in Canada.

Daniel Matrobernardino – Poet says of Mario’s stories

“The sparse, immersive narrative has become Mario’s personal style - new and daring at the same time. The tempo, style and language combine to create clear cut personalities able to portray themselves in words, actions and gestures. The choice of narrator as omniscient is a success. The quality of the story indisputable.”
